A drive from Schloss Mittersill over the Pass Thurn to Kitzbühel and on to Zell am See promises an enjoyable journey through some of the most beautiful regions in the Alps.
The starting point is Mittersill Castle, from where you set off in a relaxed manner towards Pass Thurn. The road gently winds its way through the impressive mountain landscape and repeatedly offers sweeping views of the surrounding peaks.
You soon reach Kitzbühel – one of the most traditional Alpine towns, known for its unmistakable charm and elegant atmosphere. Here you can take a break to stroll through the historic old town or enjoy the special flair of this place.
The route continues towards St. Johann and from there to Zell am See, past picturesque landscapes and along gentle hills. A breathtaking panorama of the Wilder Kaiser awaits you from Kitzbühel.
Once you reach the shores of Lake Zell, an impressive panorama of water, mountains and vastness awaits you – ideal for a relaxing stopover.

The journey over the Gerlos Pass is one of the most impressive panoramic routes in the region. Winding roads, impressive views and the proximity to the Krimml waterfalls make every stage a special experience.

A drive from Schloss Mittersill via Krimml and the Gerlos Pass into the Zillertal promises a varied journey through impressive landscapes.
The starting point is Mittersill Castle, from where you set off in the direction of Krimml. After around 30 kilometres, you will be accompanied by the imposing Krimml Waterfalls – the highest waterfalls in Europe – whose mighty masses of water offer a fascinating natural spectacle.
The route then leads up to the Gerlos Pass. After another 15 to 20 kilometres or so, you reach the top of the pass, from where you can enjoy impressive views of the surrounding mountains. The winding road makes every bend an experience – especially in a classic car or convertible.
The onward journey into the Zillertal covers around 30 kilometres and takes you through a changing alpine landscape. Depending on the return route chosen, the tour covers a total of around 160 to 180 kilometres, offering an ideal amount of driving time and enjoyment.

A tour from Schloss Mittersill via the Felbertauern to Lienz leads through some of the most unspoilt landscapes in the Alps.
Starting from Mittersill Castle, you first head south. After around 45 kilometres you reach the Felbertauern, where you are guided through the picturesque Felbertal valley – accompanied by clear mountain streams and unspoilt nature.
After passing through the tunnel and another 35 kilometres or so, you reach Lienz, a charming town with an almost Mediterranean flair. The historic old town centre invites you to take a relaxing break and offers a delightful contrast to the Alpine mountains.
The entire route covers around 200 to 220 kilometres, depending on the chosen return route. On the way back, you can enjoy the familiar route again – this time with new perspectives and impressions.
