Castle Mittersill is nestled in the impressive mountains of the Salzburger Land region – just 20 minutes from Kitzbühel and 30 minutes from Zell am See. It is easy to get here both by car and by public transport.</p
Your way to the castle
From the north and west (from Germany or from the direction of Innsbruck):
- Take the Kufstein Süd motorway exit in the direction of St. Johann/Tirol, Kitzbühel, Felbertauern
- follow the signs for St. Johann/Tirol, Kitzbühel
- in Kitzbühel continue in the direction of Felbertauern and Mittersill
- after Pass Thurn on the road to Mittersill, you will see the castle on the right-hand side
From the south (Italy, Klagenfurt):
- Take the Bischofshofen motorway exit in the direction of Zell am See
- From Zell am See continue in the direction of Mittersill
- In Mittersill, take the first exit at the roundabout towards Kitzbühel
- After a few metres you will see the castle on the left
From the east (Vienna, Salzburg):
- Follow the motorway in the direction of Villach
- Take the Bischofshofen exit
- Country road in the direction of Zell am See
- from Zell am See continue in the direction of Mittersill
- In Mittersill at the roundabout take the first exit towards Kitzbühel
- after a few metres you will see the castle on the left
Vignette:
Please note that vignettes are compulsory on all motorways in Austria without exception.
BUT the section from Kiefersfelden to the Kufstein Süd/Felbertauern exit is toll-free!

The outdoor car park on the castle grounds is free of charge.
There is a charge for parking in the garage: € 14.00 per day.
