A place for legends

In the days of the sports and shooting club, the tennis court was a place where members not only put their sporting skills to the test, but also enjoyed the sociable atmosphere. Hollywood star Clark Gable was a regular guest at the castle and on the centre court. Many locals still talk about their time as ball boys for all kinds of prominent guests. Forgotten for many years, the court was renovated in 2022 with great effort and attention to detail. Since then, tennis in Mittersill has once again taken place on the castle grounds.

The tennis court is majestically enthroned on the 4.3-hectare castle grounds and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains of the national park. Surrounded by a picturesque backdrop, it invites you to linger, whether after an exciting match or simply to enjoy the beauty of nature as a spectator alongside the match. Numerous benches along the course offer the perfect opportunity to take a break and savour the moment.</p

Equipment available on request at reception

For guests who would like to experience a tennis adventure on the court but are travelling without equipment, tennis rackets and balls can be borrowed from reception.the tennis court at Schloss Mittersill invites you to enjoy active, sporty fun, with exciting games with family, friends and new acquaintances.

How to find our tennis court

Two paths lead from the castle to our tennis court: a small, almost hidden path through the castle garden takes you directly to your destination – but requires some surefootedness. The path towards the exit is easier: in the bend before the castle gates, follow the forest path and walk along the castle moat to the court.

Alternatively, a member of staff will be happy to take you there directly by golf car.
