Cross-country skiing in Mittersill

Classic or skating, beginners or advanced, hobby cross-country skiers or sports enthusiasts – from the leisurely Pinzga trail in the valley to the artificially snow-covered and floodlit Blizzard trail in Mittersill town centre to the challenging Hochmoor trail: Mittersill-Hollersbach-Stuhlfelden is a true cross-country skiing Eldorado.

An absolute highlight is the Hochmoor cross-country ski trail: Located on a sunny plateau at an altitude of 1,200 metres, the snow-sure trail offers a fantastic view of the snow-covered peaks of the three-thousand metre peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Length 3.1 km, level of difficulty easy, double track for classic cross-country skiing and skating trail, floodlit from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Total length 200 km, double track for classic cross-country skiing and skating trail.

Beginners appreciate these 2 kilometres with separate tracks for classic and skating styles. The trail around the Hollersbach bathing lake meets all requirements.

This excursion is well worth it, as the 5.2 km trail takes you through the Kaprun moor and past Kaprun Castle in just one hour. Extensions through the trail towards Bruck and the golf course trail are possible.

In Uttendorf there are around 25 kilometres of trails, including a direct connection to the Pinzga trail. The Schlossloipe 1 trail deserves a special mention. Thanks to artificial snowmaking and lighting, you can ski here daily until 10 p.m. in classic and skating style over 5 kilometres.
